Dalio Calado Creates Specialty Cocktails for Beijing Partida Party

Dalio Calado is a mixologist responsible for a few recipes located in the recipes section for some well known liquor brands.  His name came up in a recent press release as well which sent me searching for more information.  I found a wealth of information I thought you, my readers, would find fascinating and useful. 

 

Dalio is native to Lisbon, Portugal.  He has traveled all over the world, visiting Brazil, Africa and the Caribbean to name a few.  Places such as these are only a handful of the areas that influence the cocktails Dalio Calado develops as a master mixologist.  Dalio does not rely only on the classics, but builds from them.  His cocktails are beautiful and from the few I have been able to glean from recipes, they are superb.

The Beijing BBQ Oriental Mandarin Cocktail featuring Partida Blanco Tequila was created by Dalio in honor of Beijing, the home of this year’s Olympic Games.

1 hand squeezed Tangerine

1 ounce Grand Marnier

1 ounce Partida Blanco Tequila

2 ounce Ginger Ale

 

Squeeze the tangerine into a shaker filled with ice. Add Grand Marnier and Partida Blanco. Shake well, then top with ginger ale while still in the shaker.  Pour into a rocks or highball glass and garnish it with a tangerine wheel.

2 ounces Christiania Vodka
2-1/2 ounces Lemon Sorbet
1/2 ounce
St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
1 ounce Fresh Raspberry Puree
Ice

 

Add lemon sorbet, Christiania Vodka and a few cubes of ice to cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.  Pour into martini glass.  Prepare Fresh Raspberry Puree: In a blender, mix a few fresh raspberries (washed and dried) and St. Germain. Top off the cocktail with this mixture and garnish with a fresh raspberry.
