PinUp Wines: “Exposing” Marketing Ideas that Catch Consumer’s Eye
While what’s inside matters most, it never hurts to have a catchy label. This wine label definitely catches the consumer’s eye. PinUp Wines are obviously popular. As I scanned the online order form several vintages were already sold out. If you are in the mood for something a little off the beaten track for that special someone this holiday season order these soon.
PinUp wines are handcrafted from premium estate vineyards located in the Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley and Sonoma County appellations. The various labels depict the feel of 40’s era pinup posters with black and white photos and lingerie clad women giving the illusion of sexy while leaving the imagination to work its own magic, thus the name PinUp Wines. The women featured in the playfully sexy poses are chosen through random drawing from wine club members who choose to enter for a chance at national “exposure” on labels with names such as Cabaret and Desire. The creators of this clever marketing idea had so much fun with previous label contests they decided to feature more PinUp models this year with multiple label versions for the new Desire. Desire appears in a labeling ménage a trois so to speak. Then again, Ménage a Trois is another wine label entirely.
Collector’s Edition No. 5 Cabaret and Desire are now available. Previous bottlings still available are listed below. Be sure to take a look around the PinUp Wines site for a look at the Little Yellow Cottage for that special getaway you may want to plan.
